Finally… we are opening our new practice. It has been four long years of planning & preparation & I’m sure I have thought of everything.

I am so excited to be a part of the southwest Edmonton community, this is where I live and am raising my family. Something about this part of town feels special, and I strive to provide a special experience to my patients.I am combining thousands of hours of education and some of the most amazing technology and staff under one roof to offer what I believe to be an unmatched patient experience. I’m honoured and privileged to have this opportunity to serve my neighbours.

2015 will mark my ninth year practicing dentistry and from humble beginnings feel that I am truly finding my stride. My current philosophy is shaped by my experiences in private practice thus far. When I graduated from the U of A dental program in 2006 I was asked to remain at the school as a clinical instructor. It has been said that the highest form of learning is to teach, and in my experience this is irrefutable. When I first began teaching I was surprised to be challenged again and again. The students are sharp, and they force the understanding of fundamentals to refinement and depth.

I was lucky to find an associateship at Meadowlark Dental Centre where under the guidance of two experienced mentors Dr. Ken Luft and Dr. Ed McIntyre I was encouraged to explore my interest in surgery and dental implants. I formed a relationship with Nobel Biocare, the worlds largest dental implant company, and, quite to my surprise and without intention have become one of their top partners.

Despite the success of my implant practice, general dentistry remains my focus. The most rewarding aspect of my profession is the relationships built with families, which as my career progresses, I hope to see grow many generations deep. I endeavour to treat every new patient for a lifetime. With this in mind, my treatment recommendations for each person is tailored for a good outcome for later in life, not just today.

I once attended a motivational seminar where the speaker said: “If you serve people unselfishly to the very best of your ability every time you wont be able to stop success. It will break down your door and engulf you.” I hope to prove him right.

So, with the support of my amazing family and the confidence of an incredible team we commence a new adventure.

Welcome to Southwest Smiles. I am privileged to serve you!

I am thrilled to be a part of the Southwest Smiles dental team and our surrounding community. It is an absolute privilege to be serving the people of a city I have grown to love.

Prior to studying dentistry, I completed my Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree at the University of Western Ontario where I received my foundational knowledge in medical science. Because of my interests in science, art and helping others, I decided to pursue a career in dentistry. I moved from Ontario to Edmonton to study at the University of Alberta School of Dentistry. Over the years at dental school, I came to really enjoy the city and people of Edmonton and now I am pleased to settle down in the southwest community.

Dentistry is my passion. It uses medicine and science to alleviate pain, improve oral health and give patients beautiful smiles. Your comfort and health are a priority for us at Southwest Smiles. I look forward to welcoming you to our clinic!

I am honored to be a part of the team at Southwest Smiles and serve the community in which I grew up and continue to reside in today.

I moved to the area when much was still under construction, and I have watched it grow from a few small neighborhoods to the diverse and flourishing community it is today. I feel grateful to have the opportunity to serve my neighbors and provide care that is personable, friendly, and understanding of individual needs.

I began my path towards dentistry at the University of Alberta, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and minor in Business. During my undergraduate years, I received an Undergraduate Scholarship for superior academic achievement and graduated with distinction. After completing my undergraduate degree, I moved to the United States to complete my dental degree at New York University, where I graduated with Honors in Faculty Practice and Honors in Research. After graduating from dental school, I went on to attain hospital based training as a General Practice resident at NYU Lutheran Medical Centre. I place a high value on the finest training and techniques, as I believe that alongside clear communication, it makes the recipe for success.

I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, and my goals in dental care are to combine health, function, stability, and esthetics. I am a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and am an Invisalign certified provider.

A warm welcome to Southwest Smiles and I look forward to serving you!

I am so happy to be a part of the amazing team at Southwest Smiles. Together we are committed to providing exceptional patient care to all generations.

Originally from Calgary, I completed a Bachelor of Biological Sciences degree with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alberta. I was accepted to the highly competitive Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta where I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Throughout my 9 years of university I was awarded a number of scholarships based on academic standing and community involvement through my extensive volunteerism.

I grew to love the city of Edmonton for its world class festivals, amazing restaurants and of course our famous river valley. My husband Josh and I have built our lives here in Edmonton and have become actively involved in the community. In my spare time I love to travel, cook, dance and spend time with family and friends.

I love being a dentist because I am able to build a long-lasting relationship with my patients. I strive to be compassionate, approachable and to provide exceptional patient care. Some of my most rewarding experiences have come from making anxious patients feel comfortable enough that they look forward to coming to the dentist. I believe in working with patients to find the best treatment option for their specific situation.

I look forward to meeting you, building a relationship, and creating a smile that you are proud to show off.

B.A. Psychology / Treatment Plan Coordinator

I graduated from the University of Alberta in 1999 with a bachelors degree in psychology. I gained much life experience by working for 10 years in the social work field with children and families. Recently, I was a stay at home mom for 6 years to take care of my 2 young children. Now I am back to work and excited to switch career gears and focus on the aesthetic goals of the practice. I enjoy abstract painting with acrylic paints and all things artistic and beautiful. I also love doing yoga while being on the grass in bare feet. I look forward to making this dental clinic the very best place to be to have all your dental needs taken care of in an exceptional, caring and positive way.

RDA / Registered Dental Assistant

I have had a passion for dentistry since I was a child, influenced by both my beloved late grandfather and uncle who taught me the value of a beautiful smile. I became an RDA in 2013 from the NAIT program and I'm looking forward to achieve higher educational goals in the dental field. I really appreciate good dialogue, honesty, organization and teamwork. These are qualities that are essential in our work environment. I enjoy reading and good music. I also have a passion for traveling and meeting new people. Some of the great rewards of working with the Southwest team is the sense of competence and progress, the recognition and respect for professionals and patients from different parts of the world, the enhancement of relationship between patient-professional, and the enjoyable working atmosphere. I look forward to have you, the patient, as part of our team.

The very first time I walked into Southwest Smiles, I knew right away that this was the kind of team I wanted to surround myself with. A Warm, Caring, and talented team, who provides outstanding client-centered care, and education to our patients. I am originally from Kenora Ontario, and fairly new to the Edmonton area. I decided to move out to Edmonton with my fiancé for work, and to be a little closer to my brother. Throughout the years I have moved around a few times, and recently I enjoy yoga, camping, the lake, shopping, music, and spending time with friends/family. I also recently tried zip-lining this fall too, and had a blast! moved from Montreal. I have always had a fascination with the dental field, and knew it was something that I wanted a career in. I have been a dental assistant for about 5 years now, and recently graduated from the dental hygiene program at John Abbott College in Quebec. Practicing as a dental hygienist is the next step in my career path that I have been working towards, and that I am very excited to pursue! The words that I like to carry with me during my day are “treat others how you would want to be treated.” As a health professional, it’s important to me to build a great relationship with you, the patient, and make you feel comfortable during your visit.

I fell in love with teeth when I was 13 years old. Going once a month to see the Dentist and all the staff that worked there, was one of my favorite things to look forward to. This experience is what made me decide I wanted to be apart of the dental field when I grew up. Fast forward to 2008 and I’m graduating NAIT with my Dental Assisting Certificate. I strive to give you the same warm and inviting experience that I had whenever I visited the dentist. When I’m not at work, I’m scrapbooking or painting. When it’s nice out, I'm biking and hiking. I feel absolutely blessed to be apart of the Southwest Smiles family. I can’t wait to meet you and your beautiful smiles!

Growing up I had a lot of orthodontic treatment completed to create a smile that I now love to share with the world. The practice I had attended was full of happy people ready to make the best experience possible for their patients. This was something I was always wanting to have in a work environment growing up and now I luckily got my wish with Southwest Smiles! Everyone here is super friendly, understanding and willing to give the best patient care possible. On my free time outside of the dental world, I enjoy playing tennis, badminton, going for runs and horseback riding. You'll also find me tinkering around on the piano as well as teaching it to anyone who enjoys music as much as me! I hope to help give you the best patient care I have always received, as you are number one in my books. Remember that you are never fully dressed without a smile and I hope to see yours here soon!

I received an advanced diploma in Dental Hygiene in Ottawa Ontario before moving back to Edmonton where I was born and raised. I am so thrilled to be part of such a friendly and innovative team here at Southwest Smiles. I have a passion for travel and spent a couple years living in Denmark where I hold dual citizenship. I love to stay active at the gym and always enjoy a good high intensity spin class. When there's downtime you'll find me curled up watching 90's action movies with my cat Wesley Stripes. I can't wait to meet you all and showcase how comfortable and individualized your dental experience can be!
